But Before I Go...

One more topic for you.

I tend to walk around in the dark, without turning on lights as I go. I'll be in the living room, turn off the TV/lights/computer/whatever, then walk in total darkness to my bedroom without turning on the hall lights as I pass them. I don't have kids around, so no danger of tripping over toys. I also have a roommate who sleeps all day and works at night, so no roommate to move things around on me. However, occasionally she appears when I am walking from Point A to Point B, and asks why I'm walking around in the dark.

Am I odd?

No, just not afraid of the dark.

No one here thinks that you're odd, we are convinced that you're odd.

I do that alot. Just remember to hold your hand out sideways and follow the wall just so's you don't go a few degrees wide and walk into it.

I do the same thing except I have three kids and a wife who constantly rearrange the environment. It's a bit like tightrope walking blind with a dash of kamikazi thrown in for flavor. It keeps me young.

I don't walk around in the dark; my imagination is way to cracked out. Maybe it was all those paintchips as a kid, but sometimes if I'm hanging out alone, I can freak myself the fuck out.

Yes, you're weird, but not for THAT reason :-)

Seriously, though, I do the "walk through the dark" thing, too. Sometimes it's just faster & easier to walk than to try to find the damn light switch :-)

i turn lights off as i go. i hit my pinky toes [my literal pinky toes, not my pinkytoe] all the time, so i usually prefer lights. i make sure the lamp next to the bedroom is on and turn off the other lights in order of farthest from to closest to the bedroom. the lamp is the last off. i hit my pinky toes in the bedroom in the dark, but my stereo and alarm clock give off enough light that i can at least figure out where i'm going.
