I saw a t-shirt today that said, "Ann Arbor is a Whore."
Hilarious. But I think she'll make us her bitch on Saturday.

Here's a couple questions for you. Where in the United States would you never live and why?
Where in the United States would you like to live (can include your present locale) and why?
Posted by Jenelle at October 17, 2006 10:38 AM | TrackBackIt would take powerball type of money to get me to move back to the northeast. The cost of living up there is just too crazy. Granted the pay is higher but it seems like everyone and their brother has their hands in you wallet. I am very satisfied with TN with the exception of the heat and humidity in July-aug.
Posted by: pete at October 17, 2006 02:24 PMYes, Knoxville is on the list of possibilities...mostly so I can become a Glenn Reynolds groupie. Plus the school is cheap.
Posted by: Jenelle at October 17, 2006 02:49 PMI like it here in Charlotte pretty well. Raleigh was pretty nice, too. I'm from Knoxville, so I can second (or is it third) the motion on Knoxville, although, Pete, I'll trade you the Charlotte humidity for Knoxville's any day. I also wouldn't mind most any place in Virginia. The worst place I've ever lived is Florence, South Carolina, located where I-20 and I-95 meet. A more backwards, land that time forgot that would confirm every southern stereotype you've ever heard would be hard to find, plus the whole city is built in and around swamps, so the humidity and mosquitoes are absolutely unbearable most of the year.
Posted by: Rev. Mike at October 17, 2006 06:03 PMI like where I live now, but I don't think I'll be here for more than three years or so. And I agree with the Rev that Charlotte is decent - though I much prefer the Lake Norman area. I think I'd like to try living in Colorado, Wyoming, or back to Florida too.
Worst places? Never been a fan of Greensboro or Raleigh, or most any interior place that has no mountains. Wisconsin was mediocre, could've done without Alabama, No. Va was a veritable suburban nightmare, I don't think I would enjoy Vegas but I might get a kick out of other smaller towns in the southwest. Northern California would be nice if it was Southern Oregon; but it's not, so it's not.
Posted by: shank at October 18, 2006 07:55 AMI like where I live: Montgomery Cty, Maryland (it borders DC on the east and north) for the most part, though the part where I live is starting to be developed into a megalopolis the likes of which is usually seen only in science fiction movies. Maybe if I moved ten or fifteen miles north of here, thought that would put me just on the border of MoCo.
As for where I couldn't live--I can't see myself living east of the Mississippi and north of the Mason-Dixon line. Except for maybe New Hampshire.
Posted by: Victor at October 18, 2006 02:06 PMUh, Victor last time I checked Maryland was east of the Mississippi.
